How it works

Poses · Crossed Legs

Upload a photo and get it back with you seated, legs crossed, in a poised editorial pose.

A seated pose with crossed legs is a staple of editorial and portrait photography: it lengthens the line of the legs, straightens the posture and looks composed. This page runs one pose template, Crossed Legs, on a photo you upload. The instruction sent to the image model (Nano Banana 2) is "make the pose sitting with legs crossed, elegant seated look". The model changes your pose and keeps your face, outfit and surroundings, adding a seat where the scene needs one. It sits in Poses alongside Sitting, Relaxed Sit and Fashion Editorial.

What it does

Poised, not slouched

The instruction asks for an elegant seated look, so the result aims for an upright posture with the legs crossed neatly, the way a portrait photographer would direct it.

Works from a standing photo

Your original does not need to be seated. The model rebuilds the pose and places you on a seat that fits the scene, although results are steadier when the scene already has somewhere to sit.

Other seated options

Sitting and Relaxed Sit give a more casual version; Fashion Editorial gives a styled magazine pose. Try them on the same photo.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload a full-length photo

The pose involves your legs, so pick a picture where your whole body is in frame. Signed-in users can reuse a recent generation.

  2. 2

    Pick the frame

Auto keeps the original shape. A taller ratio gives a seated figure more room.

  3. 3

    Generate

Press Generate, which shows the price and asks you to sign in if needed. The result opens in your Create Image history.

Who it's for

Fashion and outfit posts

Crossed legs show off shoes, skirts and trousers in a way standing shots do not.

Professional portraits

A composed seated pose works for speaker bios, author photos and company pages.

Fixing an awkward shot

When a good photo is let down by how you were standing, change the pose instead of retaking it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a seated photo to start with?

No. The model can turn a standing photo into a seated one and adds a seat if needed. Expect more variation than when you start from a seated picture; generate again if the seat or proportions look wrong.

Will my outfit change?

It is not meant to. The instruction only describes the pose, so clothes, face and background should stay the same.

Does it work for men?

Yes. The instruction says nothing about gender, so it works on any clear full-length photo.

Why does a cropped photo not work well?

If your legs are out of frame the model has to invent them, which makes the result less believable. Full-length photos give the best results.
