Video tool · runs on HeyGen video translation
Upload a clip of someone speaking, pick a language, and get the same video back dubbed in that language with the lips matched.
Translate Video is a video translator for clips where a person talks to camera. You upload the video, choose the language you want it in, and press Translate. The tool sends it to HeyGen's precision video translation model, which transcribes the speech, translates it, generates the new voice track and then re-renders the speaker's mouth so the lip movements fit the translated words. The result is a new video you can play and download, not a subtitle file. The language list has 32 options, from Spanish, French, German and Portuguese to Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic and Turkish, plus English (US) and English (UK) for translating into English. If you only need the dubbed audio, turn on Audio only and the face is left as it was. Pricing follows the length of the clip: 500 credits per minute, rounded up to the next full minute, so a 30 second clip and a 60 second clip cost the same. The price appears on the Translate button once the video has loaded. The translated video can come back a little longer or shorter than the original, because the new language may need more or less time to say the same thing. Clear speech from one speaker facing the camera gives the most convincing lip sync; music under the voice, people talking over each other or a face turned away make the result less exact.
Examples
What it does
Dubbing with lip sync
The translated speech replaces the original voice, and the mouth is re-rendered to match it, so the speaker looks like they said the new line. Everything else in the frame is kept from your footage.
32 languages, searchable
Pick from 32 languages and variants, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Polish and Ukrainian. Type in the search box to find one quickly. Spanish is selected when the panel opens.
Audio only mode
Audio only translates the voice without changing the lips. Use it for voice-over footage, screen recordings, or clips where the speaker is small in the frame and lip sync would not show.
How it works
- 1
Upload the video
Drop a video onto the upload card or click to choose one. Signed in, you can also reopen an earlier result from the rail on the left. Trim it to the part you need first, since the price is set by length.
- 2
Choose the language
In the Translate to list, pick the target language, or search for it. Leave Audio only off for full lip sync, or switch it on to translate the voice alone.
- 3
Translate and check it
Press Translate; the price shows on the button. Sign in if asked. The finished video is added to the rail and opens when it is ready. Watch it with sound on and, if you can, have a native speaker check names and terms.
Who it's for
For creators going multilingual
Publish the same talking-head video for a Spanish, Portuguese or Hindi audience without recording it again or adding subtitles that viewers have to read.
For marketing and product teams
Localize a short product demo, testimonial or ad into the languages of the markets you sell in, keeping the same presenter in every version.
For educators and trainers
Translate a short lesson or onboarding clip so learners hear it in their own language, with the instructor still on screen.

Frequently asked questions
How do I translate a video to English?
Upload the video and choose English (US) or English (UK) in the language list. The tool works out the spoken language itself, so there is no source language to set.
How much does it cost to translate a video?
500 credits per minute of video, rounded up to the next full minute. A clip under a minute costs 500, a 90 second clip costs 1,000. The exact price shows on the Translate button before you start.
Does it add subtitles?
No. Nothing is burned into the picture: the point is the dubbed voice. Add Subtitles can burn captions in, but it transcribes English only, so it fits videos you translated into English.
Can it translate a video with two speakers?
The tool is tuned for one person speaking at a time. Several voices, overlapping talk or loud background music make the translation and the lip sync less reliable, so cut the clip to one speaker where you can.
Can I translate into more than one language?
One language per run. Run the same video again and pick the next language; each run is priced separately.
Whose videos can I translate?
Your own, or videos you have permission to dub. The result makes a real person appear to speak words they did not say, so do not use it to mislead viewers about who said what.
